Lots of wind this morning, then Impi arrived and it dropped to nothing. It then filled back in again so we went out with 5.7m sails. The first 10 minutes were terrible, just not enough wind to get going, then all of a sudden a gust came through and my secret weapon for the day (a 32cm fin rather than my usual 23cm fin) paid off and I was up onto the plane and whizzing past Impi who was still struggling!

The wind continued to fill until we were both well powered up and have a whale of a time. Perfect conditions really, not too challenging, but plenty of wind to get going and fly upwind and plenty of ramps for some nice jumps.

I then snapped a harness line but luckily had brought a spare with me, so a quick change and I was back out on the water. Impi and I had some nice fast runs racing each other out through the choppy surf followed by some flat out gybes out the back.

It doesn't really get much better than that, the sun even made a short appearance and the water is warming up.
